Joining the Blog Tour

by | May 14, 2014 | Meditation

Last week I was asked to join a blog tour by one of the most precious and beautiful Souls I know, Kimberly Davis. Kimberly and I met during our coaching certification program when we were assigned to each other as coaching buddies- I couldn’t have asked for a better fit to help me on my journey! Over the years I have watched in awe as Kimberly has Screen Shot 2014-05-14 at 3.15.10 PMpassionately provided individuals and organizations find their inner leadership and authentic Selves. She is someone that I look up to as a leader, and I am so thankful that after all of these years she is still in my life and supporting me in what I do. Thank you Kimberly for the invitation to join a huge gamut of powerful women on this blog tour. To read Kimberlys answers to the blog tour

I love the idea of this blog tour! It allows the readers to experience the writing that we do in a different way. It allows us to be even more open and honest in who we are and why we do – what we do.

Let’s begin the journey together. Here are my answers to 4 beautiful questions:

What am I working on?

Wow- this question overwhelms me a bit. I feel as though I have this crazy mind that goes a mile a minute! I am always allowing my creative juices to flow with ideas on how to help make other people’s lives better- but the really cool part about this is that the change usually starts inside of me first!! So, at any given time I have many projects on the go- both professionaly and personally. So I’ll dive into both.

Personal Life:

I think right now I have been facing some big adversity in my life. I have fallen (or been pushed- thank you Universe!) into a deep state of Self reflection. Over the past couple of months I have been seeking what some might call the pursuit of happiness. And guess what-  it’s not where I thought it was. I always had this idea that happiness came from the passion in which you lived life and the people you surrounded yourself with. What I have found is that these things can enhance one’s life- but they truly don’t create core happiness within. So personally- I am working on what matters most- true happiness that comes from within. The kind where if every outer influence were to be stripped away from you, you would still be left with a feeling of inner happiness and content. Quite honestly (because who am I if not honest) this journey hasn’t been an easy one- there have been some dark moments but the light in which I am finding is so truly bright! I know that I am going through this not just for myself, but to help my clients, family and friends find the same brightness of light within.

Professional Life:

I am working on a guided meditation series! I love meditation and I love helping others move through obstacles through meditation. I’ve used guided meditations in the workshops that I’ve taught in the past and I’d like to make them available for others to listen to at any time. It’s a fun project and I’m learning a lot about technology- which I have a love/hate relationship with

I am creating a local women’s coaching group. There’s nothing I’m more passionate about than when women get together in a group and learn from one another. I find it to be so empowering to watch the healing that can take place when stories are shared and hearts are open. This project is just in the preliminary stages but again, the creative juices are flowing!

How does my work differ from others of it’s genre?

It’s funny when I first read this question it made me a bit panicky. I’ve never thought about how I differ from others but this question allowed me to expand on that awareness.

I think because I take all of the work that I’ve done on myself and implement it into my sessions it makes what I do so unique. I find that I’ll go through a huge shift in awareness and then one of my clients will be seeking the answers that I just received. It always seems to be a perfect fit and it’s one of the things that I love about my work (and the Universe). When I stop growing so does my practice! OOOOH – that’s an interesting awareness right there.

I use tools from a Universal Law to help my clients heal from something that we all have: limiting beliefs. You can’t deny Universal Laws- so why not use them to your advantage. I empower my clients to find their true Selves, and to  listen to their own inner voice. I teach them that they are their own creator within their own lives.

Last but now least (this was a huge aha moment for me) I differ from other coaches because I also have a background in health and wellness- I was a registered massage therapist for over 10 years and I have been trained in energy work and psychology of Chakras! I have an ability to sense what’s going on with a person even over the phone. Oh that felt good to say.

How does my writing/creating process work?

When I first started writing I found it quite difficult. I was so scared that I wouldn’t have anything to say AND that no one would care about what I had to say. I pushed through those fears anyways and realized that I just had to speak from the heart and to TRUST!

Most times I write about something that’s happened to me (my horrible pink hair experience– UGH!) I truly believe that we learn through stories so I share mine. I allow myself to be vulnerable to my readers, in hopes that they will open their hearts to my experiences. If my story resonates then hopefully it will shift something within them, and if not- they just get to read about some other persons life. You never know- my story might stick in the minds of the reader and they may pass it along to someone who needs it. The ripple effect is such a beautiful thing.  My lessons and stories have ranged from grief- after losing someone I loved, all the way to what I learn from my dog!

I feel as though I’m constantly learning- the wheels are always turning, but in a good way.

Anytime I feel inspired I ask myself ‘How can I learn from this? How can others learn from this?’ So then I create content based on that. The lessons never stop so the stories won’t either.

Most importantly, before I sit down to write I always ask to be guided. I ask the Universe, Angels and Guides to help me speak from my authentic place.

Why do I write/create what I do?

I write and create so that others can learn and grow- to let them know they’re not alone. If I can help just one person experience more happiness or give them a tool to make their lives better- I’ve done my job. I do this to inspire others to feel empowered in creating their own happiness. Even as I write this tears come to my eyes because I just want each and every Soul in this world to have inner peace, happiness and tranquility. If I can be a small part of that puzzle I have done my job and I love it!

The tour will now continue on May 26 with some women who have made an impact on my life and the lives of others:

Jana Jopson is the owner of Just You Imagine and blog The Nurtured Entrepreneur, where she helps small business owners be creative with their content and guides them to have FUN while doing so! She calls herself a strategic, creative and intuitive thinker and I whole-heartedly agree! I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing her beautiful energy in a coaching course and a forum that we both belong to. I’ve also had the opportunity to experience her work first-hand as she helped guide me to work through some of my own ‘stuff’.  Her emails alone put a smile on my face each and every time. You can learn more about Jana by and don’t forget to catch her answers on May 26 as the blog tour continues.

Alice Hong has a special place in my heart! We met quite a few years ago while I was attending Moksha yoga to soothe my Soul. At the time Alice was one of the instructors there but she became so much more to me, as I’m sure she is to others. She has this presence about her that is so nurturing and compassionate. I truly feel that when I stand next to her something inside of me is healing! Alice teaches the art of yoga, creates retreats that are soothing to the Soul, and offers the most inspiring, thought provoking blog posts!
to meet the beautiful Alice Hong ,and learn on May 26 what her answers will be to the blog tour.
